A House Tour
In the heart of classical Greece and a few kilometers from
wonderful Aegean beaches, are two new homes available for
rent by the week or month, separately or together. The homes
are well appointed with modern appliances (including washing
machine) and nicely designed and constructed. Each home has
3 bedrooms, 2 ½ bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen
and living room. Also, each has two nice decks that provide
wonderful views of the mountains and the sea; the homes share
a patio and stone grill.
As is common in Greece, the bedrooms and two baths are located
on the street level. The generous living room, dining room,
kitchen and half-bath are located on the second floor. Each
spacious home has heat and air-conditioning and is tastefully
furnished, with all modern amenities. The houses are situated
on landscaped grounds, overlooking olive and citrus groves
and the sea. With very mild winters, the area is suitable
for year round vacations. Each property sleeps a total of
6 persons. Homes are non-smoking.
The homes are located in Lefkakia, a non-tourist agricultural
village of orange and olive groves on the Argolian plain with
lovely views of the surrounding hills. A café, taverna
and grocery store are all within walking distance. The town
also has a Greek Orthodox church alongside the foundations
of an archaic temple. The villagers are tremendously friendly
and seem to take pride in their American neighbors.
The Minnesota owners are maintaining the homes to a high
standard, with the help of the local property manager, Ingrid
Kothkeis, who speaks Greek, German and English, and her husband,
George. Together, they operate “Ingid’s Bungalows”
in Ancient Assini, a five minute drive from the homes, and
are available to help you settle in for your Greek vacation.
They are handy resources to give directions, solve problems
– or to join with them for a beer or glass of wine in
the early evening in their bar.
